MJ Quinn are delighted to announce we have been successful in the award of the BDUK Wales Phase 3 contract by Openreach.

Following outstanding project delivery of both Retro Build and Second DSLAM installations in Wales and through the hard work of our commercial and operational teams MJ Quinn have beaten off fierce competition from other industry leaders to acquire all 3 lots across Wales.

The scope of works for this project involve building fibre networks in rural Wales enabling remote properties to gain access to superfast broadband, something that has not been possible to this point. MJ Quinn will concentrate on building the spine and access points and will be targeted to reach 25,000 total homes passed by the end of the contract.

Due to this exciting period of growth MJ Quinn will be looking to increase both its office based teams and it’s field operations. MJ Quinn will be recruiting for a number of roles ranging from administrative and planning staff to qualified and experienced field managers and auditors.

Programme Manager David Cooper sees this project as a huge boost to our current Fibre Operations. ‘I am delighted that MJ Quinn have been awarded this contract and I thank all of those involved in the trial projects and bids that have brought us to this point. I understand this project is not without its challenges but I am relishing the opportunity for MJ Quinn to take this new work on board and look forward to leading the project from its inception”.

“The award of this contract is a huge step forward in MJ Quinn’s ambition to become one of the UKs leading FTTP companies. I am immensely proud of the work done to date and look forward to working with the newly formed team to deliver the excellent results Openreach have come to expect from the exceptional team at MJ Quinn. Well done to all.” Alan O’Prey Managing Director of MJ Quinn.

MJ Quinn will be looking to commence work on BDUK Wales Phase 3 from March 2019. Recruitment for the project is underway.
