A Buzzing Rescue Story

When a swarm grew too big for their hive, they embarked on a search for a home. Unfortunately, our fleet department wasn’t their ideal destination.

Luckily, a member of the Merseyside Beekeeping Society swooped in to save the day! With a temporary hive in hand, he skilfully captured the queen and patiently waited for the other bees to follow.

Now, the bees have been relocated, thanks to the quick action of our Lead Environment Sustainability Advisor, Jamie Thompson,

“Like many of the world’s species, bees are in decline due to threats including increased use of pesticides and climate change. One out of every three mouthfuls of our food depends on pollinators such as bees, so it’s really important we help out when we can and give colonies like this a helping hand.”
