MJ Quinn are awarded Openreach Network Service Agreement contract for the entirety of Wales. This is a landmark contract for MJ Quinn and supports our strategic objective to become one of the leading fibre installation company’s in the UK.

MJ Quinn awarded FTTP Cities contracts in 5 boroughs of the Merseyside Area.

2019

MJ Quinn awarded BDUK Wales Phase 3 contract by Openreach. MJ Quinn's vision to be the UKs number one services provider continues. Offering end to end solutions for our client through our experienced, resourceful and innovative people.

Recently formed at MJ Quinn is our Traffic Management division. Currently we have our head office based in Knowsley and a satellite depot in Bradford with more locations to follow shortly.

MJ Quinn now design, manufacture and install a full suite of QE Solutions cooling products. The 3000th cooling unit was installed for BT within telephone exchanges.

2018

MJ Quinn acquired by Constructel, a Visabeira Global Company.

MJ Quinn commence full fibre PON installation in 5 major cities on behalf of Openreach. At year end we have reached over 65,000 homes passed.

Openreach award MJ Quinn a 2 year+1 fixed volume service delivery contract guaranteeing a minimum volume of 27,000 installations per week.

Following a successful trial project MJ Quinn awarded Openreach contract to install circa 500 second DSLAMs nationwide.

2015

Openreach award national service delivery self installation contract to MJ Quinn.

2014

MJ Quinn were awarded a 2 year contract on behalf of Vodafone installing and commissioning 4G. At the completion of the contract MJ Quinn built 1119 sites.

2013

MJ Quinn begin working in international companies Huawei and Eltek replacing rectifiers in exchanges nationwide. The project grew from a standing start to 200 installations per week.

Trial Adiabatic unit is installed in a BT exchange (Byswater). Following on from this, MJ Quinn were awarded its first full cooling contract for BT and the first Adiabatic unit was installed (Nuneaton).

2012

MJ Quinn awarded Openreach contract for service delivery nationally. Initially working on copper provision this contract has grown to cover all aspects of service delivery installs. Team has grown from 50 engineers to 900+ with a full back office function and field support team. Completions have risen from 6,000 per week to a peak of 33,000.

MJ Quinn complete first cooling installation in BT exchange (Marnhull).

2010

MJ Quinn re-enters the telecommunications arena winning a contract with Telent to install Ties, Tams and EvoTams in exchanges nationwide.

MJ Quinn rapidly grew from completing 50 jobs per week to 1,000.

MJ Quinn awarded Mechanical, Electrical and Fire installation and maintenance contracts for all London Underground stations and depots.

2002

MJ Quinn awarded part of the fibre CONNECT contract, a 4 year £30m project to install the LAN for London.

1994

MJ Quinn awarded the prestigious fire and voice installation contract at Waterloo International Terminal, the first station to take Eurostar trains across to mainland Europe.

In addition to this, MJ Quinn worked with Madam Tussauds and on the Canary Wharf Development.

1989

MJ Quinn registered as a Limited Company.

Formed as an M&E contractor working with major construction companies across the UK.

1988

MJ Quinn partner with Marconi working on the System X exchanges followed by SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy).

1987

Following the tragic fire at Kings Cross, MJ Quinn worked alongside London Underground on the upgrade of many systems within their network.

Our fire systems business grew from strength to strength. The North of England was coming out of recession and we were ideally located to offer our traditional services of mechanical and electrical for: Merseyside Police, NHS, Marconi Electronics, Ford Motor Company, Rolls Royce Engines, MOD and Glaxo.

1979

MJ Quinn awarded contract for the first electrical installations at Euston Station.

1978

Mike Quinn entered the world of self-employment as an electrical contractor.

The company mainly worked on commercial, factory networks and installing and maintaining Walter-Kidde fire systems on ships visiting Liverpool Docks.

Our close association with Walter-Kidde led to the development of capability in fire detection and suppression, providing the foundations for future growth. The rush to install non water-based fire protection systems and the use of Halon 1301 to protect stored data in the financial sector provided further opportunities.
