We kicked off the week by emphasising the importance of staying hydrated. Colleagues were encouraged to drink plenty of water throughout the day. To make it easier, we provided MJ Quinn water bottles!
Journaling Day
On Thursday, we focused on the therapeutic benefits of journaling. We provided MJ Quinn pens to our employees and shared prompts to help get them started. This activity was designed to encourage mindfulness and self-reflection, allowing everyone to pause and process their thoughts and feelings. We had great engagement from the engineers and staff at our Training School who took part in providing motivational and wellness quotes throughout the day.
Guided Meditation and Fruit from Carmel College
Today, we concluded the week with a guided meditation session, helping everyone relax and centre themselves before the weekend. Meditation can significantly reduce stress and improve overall mental health, making it a perfect end to our awareness week.
Additionally, we are delighted to have fresh fruit supplied by the Foundation Learning students at Carmel College. Their ‘Carmel Farm Shop’ is a fantastic initiative where students take orders, assemble fruit and vegetable boxes, and deliver them to the staff of Carmel Sixth Form College. We are thrilled to support this programme and enjoy their delicious products.
Dress Down for Charity
To wrap up our activities, today is also a dress-down day. Colleagues are dressing casually to raise money for the Zoe Tynan Tournament, which is taking place this weekend.
Mental Health Awareness Week has been a wonderful opportunity for us to unite, support one another, and focus on our well-being. We are incredibly grateful for the participation and enthusiasm shown by everyone and look forward to continuing these positive practices in our daily lives.
Thank you to all who contributed to making this week a success!
