Last week, our colleagues participated in a charity football match in partnership with DT Hughes, held in memory of our dear colleague, Kieran McKay. The event was dedicated to raising both funds and awareness for mental health.
“We tragically lost Kieran McKay last year after his silent battle with mental health issues. Both MJQ and DT Hughes were fortunate enough to have worked with Kieran, though none of us knew he was struggling. The idea for this charity match came about through a collaboration with DT Hughes. We wanted to raise awareness and let people know that there is support available. The rising number of suicides is deeply concerning, and we felt it was important to highlight the resources available for those in need. It’s okay not to be okay, and there are places you can go and people who will listen.” – Joshua Kennedy (Team Captain)
A special shout-out goes to DT Hughes, who did an outstanding job organising the event. They went above and beyond, even arranging for a speaker who specialises in mental health. This individual gave an inspiring talk to both teams before the match, reinforcing the importance of seeking help and opening up about mental health.
We’re proud to have been part of such a meaningful event and are grateful to DT Hughes for their incredible effort in making this happen.
