Openreach Awards MJ Quinn a 3-Year Contract Extension for Heavy Cable Recovery

We are thrilled to announce that Openreach has awarded MJ Quinn a 3-year contract extension for our Heavy Cable Recovery programme.

The Heavy Cable Recovery programme involves removing obsolete copper cabling the live Openreach network, enabling space for newer, faster technologies for years to come. This initiative will enhance opportunity for ultrafast connections throughout our communities.

This extension reflects the dedication, expertise, and hard work of our amazing teams across the UK who have been delivering outstanding results since the project began in October 2023.

In just a short time, we’ve already:

🔧 Removed over 790,600KG of redundant copper cable
🌱 Contributed to a more sustainable and efficient network
💪 Helped support Openreach’s mission to modernise the UK telecom infrastructure

As part of this extension, we will undergo a mobilisation period, expanding our workforce. To support this growth, we are actively recruiting for various roles in North West England and South Wales regions. We are seeking additional field engineers, as well as desk and field resources.

We’re excited to continue this important work and build on the strong partnership we’ve developed with Openreach.

“We are proud to continue our strong partnership with Openreach through this 3-year contract extension for the Heavy Cable Recovery programme. This opportunity is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teams who deliver excellence every day. By removing legacy infrastructure, we’re helping pave the way for faster, more reliable connectivity across the UK. We’re excited to grow our workforce in North West England and South Wales and look forward to driving real progress in the industry alongside Openreach.”
