Solar Power Now Live at our Logistics Centre, Liverpool

Following a comprehensive assessment of our buildings, we’ve identified opportunities to significantly reduce their carbon footprint—benefiting the climate, our organisation, and our people for years to come.

Currently, our heat is largely produced by fossil fuel-fired boilers, and our electricity comes from the standard UK grid mix—30% of which is still fossil fuel derived. To change this, we’re implementing a plan that includes:

This approach is:

Our North West Logistics Centre Goes Solar!!

We’re proud to announce that the first solar PV system is now operational at our Randles Road site in Knowsley. Here are some key stats:

By generating and storing our own renewable energy, we’re reducing exposure to energy market volatility—like that seen during the Ukraine conflict—and taking a major step toward energy independence.

Energy efficiency is often called the “first fuel” of the clean energy transition, and this project is a prime example of how we’re putting that principle into action.

What’s Next?

Stay tuned—battery storage is coming soon, and we’ll continue to share key milestones as we progress.
