Inspector Wenham leads the largest dedicated Commercial Vehicle Unit in Europe, and his award-winning initiative has already reached over 60,000 drivers across the UK. The session provided practical guidance on key areas of road safety, including:

• Awareness of vulnerable road users
• Load security and preventing bridge strikes
• The “Fatal Four” driving offences
• The importance of walk-around checks
• Mental wellbeing and support for drivers
• What to expect during compliance checks and at the roadside

The results speak for themselves: since its introduction, the Toolbox Talk has contributed to a 64% reduction in fatal commercial vehicle incidents in London and a 12% reduction nationally. Inspector Wenham’s approach focuses on engagement over enforcement, empowering drivers, building trust, and supporting the professionals who keep the UK moving.
