MJ Quinn is expanding its nationwide engineering resource and is seeking experienced Copper Installation Engineers to support our growing Service Delivery teams across the UK. If you are a skilled engineer with proven experience working on the Openreach copper network, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Copper Installation Engineer, you will complete installation and provision activities on behalf of our national telecoms contracts. Typical tasks include:
- Overhead and underground copper installation
- Customer‑premises work including internal wiring
- Working on telegraph poles and within street cabinets
- Testing, faulting and commissioning of copper services
- Delivering excellent customer service on every job
- Ensuring safe working practices at all times
This role operates on a sub‑contracting basis not PAYE, you will be engaged via our agency partners.
What We’re Looking For
Candidates must have:
- Extensive experience on the Openreach network—provision, installation and/or repair
- Knowledge of dropwire installation and internal copper work
- Ability to work at height of up to 15m (telegraph poles), climbing multiple times in a working day
- Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months.
- A professional, customer‑focused approach
- Strong problem‑solving and technical skills
- A clean Basic DBS check (formally CRB).
- Computer Literacy with the ability to operate a handheld device and outlook
- High motivation with attention to detail.
- Ability to work alone using your own initiative.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
