At MJ Quinn we are proud to have an industry leading Training Academy through which all of our engineers are inducted, skilled and accredited.

In 2022, we safely and successfully welcomed over 2100 engineers, delivering over 7000 accreditations and over £1.8 million pounds worth of training.

In 2023, our Training Team has grown and our Academy has developed further, with additional classrooms and increased internal and external live training environments. Additional training sites have been developed for Civils and Poling training. The Training Academy has gained SMART Awards centre licence for all SMART accreditations and saw the recruitment of an internal verifier to assist with this transition and to ensure all policies and procedures are maintained in accordance with the license. The technical training admin team has also seen substantial growth to assist with the higher demand for training and compliance.

Our team of dedicated trainers are qualified to accredit engineers across a wide range of Openreach modules and telecommunications qualifications including copper and managed provision installations, One Fibre Network; fibre to the premises and cabling, Civils, Poling, Surveying, working at heights, confined space awareness and asbestos awareness.

At the MJ Quinn Training Academy, we have a full suite of bespoke equipment to aide our learner journey. Our onsite facilities include:

• Multiple telegraph poles, used to teach and accredit engineers to climb and safely work at heights.
• Linked joint boxes used to replicate underground working conditions.
• PCP cabinets to educate engineers about safe roadside working and to teach e-side to d-side jumpering.
• Live DSLAMS facilitating training on port repair and card infills.
• Exchange Frames complete with working lines which simulate a working exchange environment.
• Live copper bays designed to replicate a full premises install.
• Fibre bays designed to simulate a full install.
• Fibre exchange equipment, SOF, OFF & OFRs.
