World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2021

28th April 2021

Wednesday 28th April was World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

This year MJ Quinn’s focus was on site safety visits. Drawing on our 6 key core values; People First, Partnership, Integrity, Accountability, Innovation and Excellence, our Operational Managers, HQSE colleagues and representatives from our client, Openreach, conducted site visits, checking all health and safety measures were in place and processes were being followed. As part of our on-going ‘Improve It’ campaign, staff also took time to speak with our field team about ways in which we could innovate and make improvements as part of our everyday working life.

Kate Allen, Head of Service Delivery and Rob Mahon, HSQE Manager were joined on site by Mark Baker from Openreach. The team visited a number of engineers throughout the day, delivering toolbox talks relating to health and safety on site and observing safe working practices.

All involved were extremely cooperative and supportive continuing to build on our collaborative relationship.

Both Kate and Rob stated they were

“extremely proud and appreciative of the professionalism and safe working practices demonstrated by our operatives, not just today, but each and every day.”

In addition to site visits, we held a training event at our Training Academy in Knowsley.

Representatives from MJ Quinn and Openreach completed a session which focussed on the use of Anchor Stays.

This was an informative and extremely useful session and we would like to thank Mills for providing us with a tooling overview and Platipus for the excellent safety demonstration and training.
