Clean the cabs campaign

FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) is the most common type of broadband connection used in UK homes. It uses a blend of fibre and copper cables to deliver broadband into the premises via existing copper telephone wires. This makes it quick and cheap to install, as well as highly available throughout the UK.

Service Delivery had a quality focus in the Northwest with field and office staff joining together to get out and about and ‘Clean the Cabs’.  This was a fantastic way to improve the quality of the cabs and to engage with our engineers.  Thanks to everyone who was involved, and we look forward to doing this in other areas in the next few months.

Having previously been a field engineer for 7 years I know how dirty some of the cabs can be inside and out, and the impression this has to members of the public who see this mess every day. After hearing about the campaign to clean the cabs I was more than happy to get involved as I know this will give a very positive impression of the company and our values to members of the public. Hopefully, now engineers who visit these cabs over the coming weeks will notice the effort that has been put in to tidy them up and continue to keep them in the condition they found them.

“Having recently only joined the Service Delivery office team at the beginning of the year, I found the Clean the Cabs exercise extremely beneficial. To connect with the Area Managers, coaches, and other field bases staff as well as see the conditions the engineers work in was a valuable experience. The hard work, effort and high standards put in by all the Service Delivery team is a credit to the company. The Clean the Cabs exercise showed the care and attention of the field resource as well as the continued pride in not only their own work but also the upkeep of the Openreach network as a whole.”
