A memorable session with our apprentices and CEO at MJ Quinn
At MJ Quinn, we’re passionate about fostering the next generation of talent through our apprenticeship programme. Today was a special day as our CEO took the time to share his journey in the electrical and telecommunications industry with our 16 apprentices.
A Global Perspective: Visabeira Constructel
We began the session by showing the apprentices a video about Visabeira Constructel. The video served as a powerful reminder of the scale and reach of our parent company. It helped the apprentices see how their roles at MJ Quinn connect to a larger global network, and how their work contributes to the continued success of an organisation that operates across multiple industries and countries.
Learning from Experience
During the session, our CEO, Mike, spoke candidly about his career path, from his early days as an apprentice to leading MJ Quinn today. He shared invaluable lessons learned along the way and emphasised the importance of persistence and willingness to adapt. The session’s highlight came when each apprentice had the opportunity to ask him questions. Questions such as:
It was inspiring to see how engaged and eager to learn our apprentices were. Mike’s responses were thoughtful and encouraging, giving practical advice on how to navigate challenges, stay motivated and contribute to the company’s future.
A Moment of Reflection
After the Q&A, the apprentices were given a task: to reflect on their journey so far. This is a key part of their development, allowing them to take stock of the skills they’ve gained, the challenges they’ve overcome and the goals they want to achieve moving forward. It’s these reflective moments that help shape not only their professional growth but also the future of the industry.
The Growing MJ Quinn Apprenticeship Programme
We are proud to now have 16 new apprentices as part of MJ Quinn and this number continues to grow. Our apprenticeship programme is a critical part of our commitment to nurture talent and ensure that our industry remains forward-thinking. We hope to expand this programme even further, offering more opportunities for young people to build rewarding careers with us.
