Cheshire College embarked this transformation project aimed at modernising it’s infrastructure and enhancing energy efficiency. The project, completed by MJ Quinn, focused on key upgrades to optimise functionally and reduce environmental impact.
Improving energy performance was essential, especially considering the current infrastructure.
Ensuring minimal disruption to daily activities during the upgrade process was essential.
Specific attention as needed for the sports hall heating system.
The project aimed to significantly lower the academy’s carbon footprint.
Modifications needed to preserve the integrity of the facilities structural components.
MJ Quinn enhanced Cheshire College’s transformation project by installing 200 KW of Air Source Heat Pumps
(ASHP) for hot water, along with new buffer vessels. This upgrade improved heating efficiency, reduced reliance on
traditional systems., lowered carbon emissions, and resulted in long – term cost savings for the college. MJ Quinn undertook a comprehensive LED lighting upgrade at Chester College, replacing outdated fixtures with energy – efficient LEDS, which reduced energy consumption and improved lighting quality. Additionally, they upgraded the Building Management System (BMS) for centralised control and monitoring, enhancing resource management and
further reducing energy use. These initiatives support the college’s sustainability goals and foster a modern learning environment.
In summary, MJ Quinn’s innovative project has transformed Cheshire College, integrating ASHP technology, LED upgrades and BMS enhancements. This commitment to sustainability and operational excellence not only modernises the college’s infrastructure but also establishes it as a leader in sustainable education practices within the community.
At MJ Quinn we believe new projects should be undertaken with great amount of consideration, planning and research.
